The coastal Mediterranean weather of Positano offers a climate that holidaymakers can only dream of. With plenty of sunny weather all through the year, especially during the summer months, Positano remains warm and enticing whenever you decide to pay a visit.
The winter season is surprisingly mild and even during December and January, the two coldest months, daytime temperatures are quite reasonable, averaging 12°C / 54°F and often climbing higher. However, the summer climate is the reason that so many tourists flock to the beaches around Positano and worship the sunshine, with August enjoying many highs exceeding 30°C / 86°F.

However, the summer climate rarely feels overly oppressive, and on some days, a gentle sea breeze makes the high temperatures feel surprisingly comfortable. Positano is at its busiest between May and September, although July and August are reliably the hottest and busiest months, with the sunniest weather, when available hotel rooms often become scarce.
Summer is always an exciting time to visit Positano and the enticing climate lends itself to a broad spectrum of seasonal festivities, celebrations and open-air concerts. The recreation of a pirate attack at the Feast of Assumption in the middle of August is a particular highlight for many a tourist. October, November, December and also January tend to see the highest levels of rainfall, although this is by no means excessive and certainly does not dampen the Christmas and subsequent New Year partying.
